Why Giving Is Built Into Everything We Do

Adithya Iyer grew up in South India in a family where giving was not charity — it was dharma. The obligation to share what you have with those who have less was woven into everyday life, from the rice left at the doorstep each morning to the volunteering at the local temple.
When Skanda Designs was founded, the question was never whether to give — it was how to make giving structural, consistent, and impossible to deprioritize.
The answer was simple: 10% of every profit. Before any other business expense. Non-negotiable. Always.
Three Causes. One Commitment.
Disability Support & Inclusion
We contribute to organizations working with differently-abled individuals — providing access to education, employment, assistive technology, and the simple dignity of being seen and supported. In India and in Canada, disability remains one of the most underfunded and overlooked causes. We will not look away.
Poverty Relief & Food Security
We support grassroots organizations providing meals, shelter, and emergency relief to those in need — in the communities of South India where our roots lie, and in the cities of Canada and North America where we now live and work. Hunger does not wait. Neither does our giving.
Community & Education
We invest in programs that strengthen communities — cultural education for diaspora children, scholarships for students from underprivileged backgrounds, and support for community organizations that preserve heritage, language, and tradition for the next generation.
